The problem Heather cared about
Compiling official meeting minutes was, in her words, "one of my most daunting tasks," something she "dreaded." She would record a full council meeting, then sit through the whole recording again, stopping every 15 to 30 seconds to type out what she heard. The task ate 4 to 8 hours per meeting on top of everything else on her plate.
The agency moment
Rather than treat the drudgery as a permanent cost of the job, Minor brought HeyGov's ClerkMinutes into her own workflow and made it part of how she works.
What changed
The same task now takes her about 30 to 60 minutes instead of 4 to 8 hours. After one recent budget meeting, the tool got "every budget number correct," cutting the kind of transcription error that comes from typing numbers by ear. Minor didn't keep the fix to herself. In the company's own launch announcement, she said, "ClerkMinutes has been a true time-saver for me, and I recommend it often to other Clerks across the country."
